There was a festival atmosphere in Glanworth recently with plenty of music and song laid on for the people of the village.
A lot of last Sunday week’s activities centred on popular pub, The Local Bar, where a fine crowd assembled to hear Mitchelstown singer, John Geary.
Later that evening, top rebel band, Black Rose, were the big attraction in the marquee. These accomplished musicians performed a variety of republican ballads and traditional Irish songs for an appreciative audience.
With weather conditions favourable, what better way to dine, than out of doors and it didn’t take long for award winning chef, Bernard Caffrey to crank up his high tech barbecue. Before long, mouth-watering burgers and sausages were produced for the assembled masses.
Everyone tucked in and all were very complimentary of Bernard and his staff.
The music, fine weather and festival buzz all made for a brilliant event.
