Local photographer Pat Quinlan, is often seen out and about along the banks of the River Blackwater with his camera and, following the advice of a few locals in the town, has decided to publish a 2019 Blackwater Valley Wildlife calendar using his best shots.
Pat always had keen interest in nature and in photographer but about three and half years ago he decided to invest in his hobby and purchased his first high grade camera.
“It just evolved from there,” Pat told The Avondhu.
He upgraded his cameras as the years went by and now spends most of his days watching and waiting for the perfect shot with his Canon 17-55 Mark II and his 1-400 lens.
He takes hundreds of photos a day to try to capture the perfect moment and had to sift through thousands when choosing the 12 photographs for the limited edition 2019 calendar.
“A lot of people love to see photographs from the Blackwater both at home and abroad,” said Pat. “We only got one hundred of them printed so they are a limited edition.”
