Fermoy’s Hayden Supple reaches final of Tim Healy Juvenile Memorial

Local handball prodigy Hayden Supple of Fermoy battled his way to the ‘15 years and under’ final of the Tim Healy Juvenile Memorial handball tournament during the Christmas period.

The annual tournament took place at Liscarroll HC and was the scene of some thrilling sporting moments.

Hayden played some excellent handball to reach the final, winning his semi-final with a strong display, 15-5, 15-5.

However in the final itself, his opponent, Michael Kelly of Galway proved the stronger player on the day.

While this was Hayden’s first year competing at ‘15 years and under’, he is in fact a veteran of the competition having won the tournament in 2018 at ‘13 years and under’ and reaching the final at that level two years ago.

After the festive season, Hayden went on to represent Coláiste an Chraoibhín competitively in Conna last weekend as part of the Secondary Schools competition.

Following wins in both the semi-finals and final, he will now represent his school and county in junior singles.

Next weekend will see the young player test himself once again as he takes part in the U16s singles county final. The very best of luck to Hayden!
