Fermoy woman wins GAA Award for May

Ashling Hutchings has been announced as the May winner of the 96fm-C103fm GAA Award.

Fermoy’s Ashling Hutchings has been announced as the May winner of the 96fm-C103fm GAA Award in association with Rochestown Park Hotel.

Ashling was part of the Cork Ladies Senior football side that defeated Galway in a replay to win the Tesco Ladies’ National Football League Division One on Sunday, May 17th in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise.

She kicked three points from centre-forward in the final as Cork narrowly overcame their Connacht counterparts by a solitary points – 14 points to 1-10 – to secure a third successive League win.

Ashling, who is also manager of the Fermoy Ladies Intermediate team, was presented her award last week from Finbarr McCarthy, GAA commentator with Cork’s 96fm.
