Members of Fermoy Town Council are to be briefed on the issue of school patronage by the CEO of Co. Cork VEC, Joan Russell. Fermoy is one of the towns picked for a parental survey on the issue. That survey is currently underway.
It’s being conducted online but anyone who’d like a paper copy to fill in instead can collect one at the local library. The Department of Education’s purpose in carrying out the survey is to ascertain the type of primary school parents would like to see their child attend.
Mayor Michael Hanley has agreed to host the meeting with the VEC CEO to discuss the matter. It’ll be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 2.30pm.
