Once again this Christmas, Mellerick’s Pharmacy and Fermoy Medical Hall will continue their tradition of posting children’s letters to Santa in the North Pole, and ensuring that each child receives a personalised letter in return from Mr Claus himself.

The novel idea has been running for seven years and is hugely popular with children from all over The Avondhu area. This year, organiser Orla Mellerick has decided to raise much-needed funds for St Joseph’s Foundation in Charleville in conjunction with the special postal system.

Parents and guardians who assist their children in sending their letters to Santa are asked to make a small donation to the foundation, who work with people of all ages with disabilities.

Once the children’s letters are posted to the North Pole, each child will receive a letter back from Santa thanking them for their correspondence and confirming if they have been a good boy or girl this year.
