Fermoy has been chosen as one of nine county towns to take part in Cork Rebel Week, a week-long celebration of all things Cork. It’s a Gathering event, with a specific focus on bringing international visitors and family home to Cork county and city. The week runs from October 14 to 20.

The local organisers now want Fermoy businesses to get behind the initiative. To that end, they’ve organised a Rebel Passport Roadshow next Monday night, in the community youth centre at 7.30pm. The ‘Rebel Passport’ will entitle holders to exclusive offers not available anywhere else.

During the roadshow, information will be available on how town businesses, whether individual retailers, restaurateurs, pub owners, or others, can become a Rebel Passport partner. It doesn’t cost anything to become one, rather organisers say it will provide the platform for traders to market their business to a unique grouping.

All interested parties are invited to attend the event. Further information on Cork Rebel Week is available on the website www.corkrebelweek2013.com
