A Fermoy pharmaceutical equipment company’s role in contributing to Covid-19 vaccine manufacture will feature on RTÉ television’s new six-part series focusing on business during the Covid-19 crisis. 

ABEC, a US-owned company that employs 150 people in Ireland, builds equipment for specialised pharmaceutical manufacture and have been working with contract manufacturing suppliers to design and build bioreactors, where cells used in vaccine manufacture are grown. 

Kilfinane native, Adrian Hennessy is the company’s Vice President of Applications. “It’s been an interesting few months as we’ve been working through the pandemic and contributing to vaccine delivery,” Mr Hennessy said.
