Celebrations were in order last Friday in Fermoy Community Resource Centre as it toasted to 25 years in successful existence. The whole centre was a hive of activity as guests and visitors, new and old, witnessed first hand the range of activities that the centre provides.

Photographs from Fermoy Camera Club and drawings by artists from the Garrett Art Group were on display downstairs, while in the kitchen, volunteers provided guests with food and drink.

Upstairs, the Thrift Shop was open for business and visitors had a wide selection of clothes and items to choose from. The Thrift Shop remains one of the most long-standing initiatives of the centre.

For the children, there was face painting and a visit to Santa to avail of and enjoy. Outside in the marquee, the cake was cut to commemorate 25 years by founding members Ann Carroll and Seamus Aherne, the latter who currently serves as chairperson of the centre.
