Flat screen televisions were targeted by a burglar or burglars in break-ins in Mitchelstown and Fermoy lately.

On September 20th a 32 inch television was taken after a house in Ballybrien, Mitchelstown was entered sometime between 10.30am and 3pm. Access to the house was gained through a rear door.

Three days later thieves struck again at a house in Ballyarthur, Mitchelstown smashing the glass in a back door to get in. A 34 inch television was taken there as well as an iPad 5.

A flat screen television was also taken from the Sultan Barbers in MacCurtain Street, Fermoy sometime between the close of business on Friday last and Saturday morning.

PUBLIC ASKED TO REMAIN VIGILANT

“These are big items to be carried and it’s likely someone may have seen them,” a Garda spokesman said of the spate of similar thefts. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Garda station in Fermoy.
