All is not lost for Bride Rovers senior ladies footballers
On Sunday last the sun shone brightly on everyone in the pitch in Glanworth. The day kicked off with our boys U8 football and followed by the U10 girls. These were two great games of football. A big thank you to Mitchelstown ladies and Shanballymore boys.
Next on the agenda was our sports and this attracted a huge crowd of children all running their heart out to the finish line.
Our barbecue was once again a huge success with our chef, Bernie, making sure everyone was fed. The children had fun on the bouncy castles and wrestling their way around in the sumo suits. There were a lot of characters around the field after they made a trip to the face-painting table, both young and not so young were looking like batman, tigers, cats and princesses. Our bric-a-brac and cake stalls were drawing everyone’s attention with beautiful cakes that would make your mouth water. The ladies in the tea and coffee tent and the tuck shop had a busy day looking after everyone with drinks.
Our car filled with balloons drew massive attention with people trying to guess how many, so they could win a Cork jersey. The music tent was rocking out tunes from all the decades and I did see a few people throwing a few shapes to the music, ha-ha.
Overall it was a fantastic day and this wouldn't have happened without all the people who helped get the venue organised, baked beautiful cakes donated prizes and to David Herbert for the loan of his marquee.
So give yourselves a big pat on the back and a massive thank you to you all. Last but not least to you the families who came out to support our fun day, thank you.
U15 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP
Last Friday evening we headed to Buttevant to take on Newmarket in this first game of the championship. Before we started the game we had it won as Newmarket had only 11 players. We played the game anyway and came out comfortable winners so well done lads.
U12 HURLING LEAGUE
Dromtarriff made the journey to Glanworth for this game on Saturday last. The lads played a fine game of hurling and worked great as a team to come our victors in the end. Well done lads.
This Saturday we play Ballyhooly in Ballyhooly at 1pm.
CONGRATS
Finally, congratulations to the intermediate footballers who beat Cill na Matra at the weekend.
