A significant religious anniversary took place in St Patrick's Church, Fermoy on Monday night last with the hosting of a 25th anniversary Mass celebrating 25 years of perpetual eucharistic adoration in Fermoy.
The Mass was concelebrated by Bishop of Cloyne William Crean along with current and former priests from the parish. A good sized attendance heard Bishop Crean pay tribute to the 'keepers of the flame' who had shown 'unflagging loyalty and Christian devotion for quarter of century'.

"The dedication of the eucharistic adorers is something we could all take inspiration from," Bishop Crean said.

Fr Aquin Casey thanked all those who had assisted with the celebrations, especially Mairead Scannell who helped co-ordinate the project. Following Mass, Bishop Crean personally greeted worshipers. Later both clerics and lay people attended a social function in The Grand Hotel marking the anniversary.
