An ESB box at The Manor, Clondulane in Fermoy is to be secured, following a motion by Cllr Noel McCarthy at a recent meeting of the Fermoy Electoral Area Committee.

Cllr McCarthy said that a lot of people gather near the box during the summer and it being exposed was quite dangerous and although it has been cordoned off since the summer, it still posed a danger.

He said that he welcomes the news that this is to be rectified in due course, commenting that this will improve the situation, as it will mean that the box will not be so easy to access.
