The hardworking volunteers who make up ConnaBride Vintage committee have been very busy in recent weeks, finalising a programme of events for next Sunday's eagerly anticipated rally and family fun day.

Once again, they've done a great job and with a bit of luck with the weather, all age groups can look forward to a great day's entertainment in Dan Gallagher's field, which is situated close to Conna village.

Dan, has been a fantastic supporter of the vintage rally since day one and his assistance in providing such an excellent venue is very much appreciated. Dan has had his own health issues in recent times and the committee and all ConnaBride Vintage Club supporters take this opportunity to wish him well.

TRACTOR RUN ON SATURDAY EVENING

The annual ConnaBride Vintage Club tractor run takes place on Saturday evening next, June 14 - leaving Conna at 6.45pm.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SUPER SUNDAY (field open from 2pm - admission €8 - all rights sold)

All manner of vintage machinery (tractors, cars, motorbikes) along with a variety of stationery engines will be on display on Sunday. As in previous years, there will be a thrashing demonstration plus a steam engine in attendance.

Sport also features prominently and patrons can look forward to children's novelty sports and a Munster tug-of-war tournament. Other attractions include, a horse shoe making demonstration, fire brigade display, pets' corner and numerous side shows.

There will be plenty of stalls selling a variety of products and produce including plants, shrubs and bric-a-brac. The 'pick a prize' stall is back by popular demand. Music on the day is by Mick and Aidan Hayes.

LOTS OF ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

It's worth noting that all children are admitted free on Sunday - car parking is also free. Along with novelty sports, the young ones can look forward to face painting, bouncy castle and funfair amusements.

BRING ALONG YOUR DOG

Sunday's rally also incorporates a dog show which is a chance for your pet to win a rosette. If he's of the terrier breed and is a swift mover you might like to enter him/her in the terrier racing.

GIVING GENEROUSLY TO TWO WORTHY CAUSES

Part proceeds from Sunday's rally are going to The Dunmanway Day Centre Unit of Cork University Hospital. This facility provides exceptional care to patients, especially those battling cancer. The local cause to benefit will be Conna Sports Field.

ConnaBride Vintage Club has always made a point of supporting local groups and over the years several organisations have received valuable funding. A considerable portion of the money raised comes from the sale of raffle tickets. These are available from any committee members and the draw takes place on Sunday afternoon.

ConnaBride Vintage Club rally has received great support from the public over the years and the expectation is that people will turn out in force next Sunday to be part of this fun-filled community based event.
