John O'Donoghue was crowned national champion at the recent SKIF National championships and Harvey Dale who as a green belt was competing with brown and black belts in the competition managed to achieve a bronze medal.

This was a great achievement by both lads. As well as this, Chloe Millar was crowned national champion in both the kata and kumite senior ladies competition and Lisa Coffey was silver medallist in both - altogether great results for Kildorrery Karate Club.

The club also wishes to congratulate Alfie Carey who came second in his category in the Community Youth awards and Rose Hyland who received her certificate, both were nominated for their achievements in karate. Well done also to Ashling Mullins who was our student of the week this week.

Last Friday night the club had our annual Christmas night out and we had a good turnout of senior club members and parents. This Wednesday we will hold the annual children's Christmas party and then we will be taking a break for Christmas.

Karate will resume again in January.
