Mobility solutions specialist Easytrip, Ireland’s leading platform for on-the-road payments and solutions including toll tags with integrated parking and car wash functions, has renewed its partnership with Blood Bike Leinster.

In place since 2017, the partnership means that the Blood Bikes, a registered charity, do not have to pay toll charges as they go about their life-saving work on the highways and byways of Ireland.

Ciaran Doyle, of Easytrip Ireland said: “The Blood Bike volunteers play a crucial part in bringing blood and other time-sensitive medical products to hospitals and medical centres across Ireland and we are only too delighted to renew our partnership with them. We will happily continue to cover their tolling costs, and we will also extend our support for the Blood Bikes to cover car washing for their emergency branded vehicles. Our tag-based car wash service could not be easier to use as it does not even require the driver to get out of the car to activate it at selected Maxol car wash stations.”

“We very much appreciate Easytrip’s support,” said Fergus Lennon, Regional Coordinator of Blood Bike Leinster. “We are totally volunteer-based and rely on the corporate support of companies like Easytrip. The Easytrip car washing service as part of our partnership is a great addition for our drivers, safety is paramount for us and there is a real safety benefit in having a clean and highly visible car as our drivers clock up the kilometres”.

Blood Bikes is a registered not-for-profit Irish charity, established by local volunteers, who look after the timely delivery of blood and associated blood products, human donor breast milk, cancer medication treatments and other time-sensitive material to hospitals and medical centres across the country. Depending totally on public donations and corporate sponsorship, the service is run free of charge for the medical bodies, thanks to the legion of volunteers who give their time freely for this life-saving service.

The Blood Bikes teams carry out this valuable service to hospitals ensuring that ambulances or Garda vehicles are not taken out of service and are kept where they are needed the most.
