The first meeting of the East Cork Divisional Junior Board for the current year, took place at The Tom Powell Complex of Midleton GAA Pavilion on Wednesday night last.

The first meeting of the East Cork Divisional Junior Board for the current year, took place at the Tom Powell Complex of Midleton GAA pavilion on Wednesday night last. Chairman, Dick Fitzgerald, presided with all clubs represented.
Junior A Grade Hurling Championship
14 teams affiliated – seven first rounds
A: Lisgoold v Erins Own. B: Dungourney v Bride Rovers. C: Castlemartyr v Midleton. D: Cobh v St Ita’s. E: Killeagh v Sarsfields. F: Carraig na bhFear v Carrigtwohill. G: Russell Rovers v Cloyne Erins
Re the above, affiliation 50% if the participants are clubs’ second string teams.
Re-grading
Due to re-grading problems, the remaining championship pairings in the various grades i.e. junior B and junior C grade hurling and football, U21, A and B grade hurling and football did not take place.
GPC
The following personnel were elected to the general purposes committee: John O’Donoghue (Cobh), Donal O’Keeffe (Lisgoold), Ken Murray (Midleton), Donal Hegarty (Carraig na bhFear). The above in liaison with the officers, will form the executive committee to govern the affairs of the board throughout the year.
Vast tributes were paid to Aidan Swayne, a member of the Fr O’Neill Club, who retired from the board, after giving tremendous service during the course of the past 22 years.
Imokilly Team Management
Ronan Dwane (Aghada) and Niall Barrett (Carrigtwohill) were appointed respective managers of the divisional senior hurling and football teams.
