Members of the Walsh School of Dancing have been invited to join a Youghal delegation travelling to Larmor Plage in France, as part of a twinning initiative.

The mainly young dancers are delighted with the opportunity of some foreign travel, as well as the chance to showcase their considerable skills. Speaking at a press briefing in Ballynoe Community Centre (where the dancers rehearse), Nora Veale said everyone was practising really hard in advance of the trip. She went on to say that the group intend performing a mixture of established routines and some new material, such as 'Cotton Eye Joe' and 'I'll Tell Me Ma'.

The Walsh School of Dancing attracts dancers from throughout East Cork, with Ballynoe in particular being well represented. Ultimately, a very serious business, the boys and girls really enjoy their time on stage and it's a source of great satisfaction when everything falls into place on the big occasion.

Youghal Twinning Assocation are thrilled to have the dancers on board and they've no doubt these talented young people will represent themselves and their country with distinction when they travel to France.
