Roche's Londis store in Doneraile took a gold award at the Londis Retailing Excellence Awards 2013 having been recognised for the strong role that it plays in its local community, providing employment, sourcing local products, supporting local causes and servicing the needs of the communities in which it operates.
Roche's Londis, Doneraile, also took the award for Food Safety Store of the Year 2013 and recently received one of the highest accredited accolades for excellence in Food Safety when they were named National Q Mark Award Winner at the EIQA awards held in September.
Maura and Ray Keating, who won Overall Store of the Year 2012, said: "We are delighted to receive the 'Supermarket of the Year 2013 Award' and 'Customer Care Award'. At Keating's Londis Plus, we try to nurture and embrace a philosophy of excellent customer care, providing the best possible service to our local community."
In winning these awards, the stores were independently audited across a range of criteria including the emphasis placed on customer care, the quality of their fresh food offering, the depth and breadth of their product range, and the store’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
On presenting the awards, Stephen O'Riordan, Chief Executive Londis, congratulated John and Majella Roche and said being truly local means boosting the local community, creating local jobs and supporting the unique and distinct character of the town in which they operate.
