After teaching in Doneraile for 47 years, Presentation Primary School Principal Eamonn Horgan will be retiring at the end of this school year.

Eamonn started out teaching in Doneraile in the CBS Primary School in 1966 where he was Deputy Principal for many years and then went to the Convent Primary School in 1992 as Principal.

There can be very few people in the Parish who are not aware of the sterling service he has provided for many hundreds of children both academically and socially down through the years.

A day of celebrations will be held on June 21, to which everybody is cordially invited. This will consist of Mass at 10.30am followed by celebrations in the school.

A presentation, on behalf of all those who have benefited personally or whose children have benefited from Eamonn’s work in the academic and/or social fields will be made on the same date.

The organisers would be grateful if as many people as possible would join them on the day to mark this momentous occasion for Eamonn Horgan.
