Dog fouling is an issue which causes a lot of frustration and anger among civic-minded citizens. These days, dog owners are expected to take responsibility for their pets and not allow them to use public areas as a toilet.
The most recent complaint of dog fouling comes from Ballyhooly, where residents of a housing estate are annoyed that their car parking area is continually being fouled. A local resident told The Avondhu this week “its happening every day, it’s revolting and it’s not fair.”
She’s seen the FÁS worker attached to the village come and clean up the mess.
“It’s not fair that he should have to, that’s not what he is paid to do,” said the woman, who asked not to be named.
