The revamp of Lismore Heritage Centre has been delayed, because, as a listed building, another Government agency must be involved, the monthly meeting of the town council was told on Monday night.

Town Manager Paul Daly told members of the delay in starting the work. The €300,000 facelift will be concentrated mainly on the first floor of the building, to make it more visitor focused and user friendly.

The work was due to get underway in October and take eight weeks. It wasn't expected to disrupt the day-to-day running of the centre.
