A decision on a planning application for a café/shop and restaurant on Patrick Street in also expected to be made by the end of January.

The application, by Hannas Market and Cafes Limited, seeks the amalgamation of 21, 23 and 25 Patrick Street and the partial change of use from retail to restaurant.

Following a request for further information by Cork County Council, consulting engineers Denis O’Sullivan & Associates deemed the proposed development appropriate for this location when considered in terms of a flood risk. The application also includes a proposal to construct a new shop front with external seating on Patrick Street.

Meanwhile, an application submitted to Cork County Council by Moorepark Technologies Limited in Fermoy for the construction of two storey and single storey extensions.

The proposed development is to contain laboratories, offices and canteen, while the application also includes a proposal for the construction of a new plant room and other associated site works. A decision on the application is expected to be made in late February.

In Conna, a decision on an application by HBS Construction Limited for the development of 20 houses within the Castle Rivers Estate is expected to be made by Cork County Council by mid-January.
