Debut album for North Cork composer

A composer with strong links to The Avondhu region is set to realise a dream as she releases her debut album.

Emily Magner Hurley is originally from Whitechurch but has strong links to Castletownroche as her father John Magner hails from the area.

Following the tragic death of Emily’s mother Maria, John found his vocation to the priesthood and he now serves in Kanturk.

Emily, who is a teacher, is making her way into the heady world of international music as she releases ‘Airs and Graces’.

The name of the album references the traditional Irish airs, and the graces reference the classical music genre.
