On a recent Thursday night, at almost 11pm, Theresa Costigan, a resident of Tallow, County Waterford received a phone call from an alarm monitoring company telling her that her mother had fallen and required help.
At first she wasn’t sure how to reply to this news, because her mother had sadly passed away over a year previously.
Shaken, she informed the caller of this, and explained that there must have been a mistake, before hanging up the phone.
A little later that night she received a second phone call from the same number, insisting that her mother was in distress, had fallen, and had alerted the alarm monitoring organisation by means of a panic button.
