Cork County Council are looking for contractors to help them with major road improvement works across the region costing €5 million each including the mammoth Dunkettle Interchange and improvement works as part of major infrastructural projects on the motorway network, feeding traffic into North Cork.
The campaign for applications was announced as part of a tendering process to find ‘prequalification of a panel of contractors for various roads contracts throughout Cork County administrative area for the period of 2020-2024’.
“Typical contract types will include: Advance Works Contracts for upcoming major road projects including initial site clearance, fencing works, accommodation works, service diversion/protection works etc.
“Street Refurbishment and Improvement Contracts particularly including paving works, drainage works, ducting works, public lighting, street furniture etc.
“Typical projects, which would be suitable for this framework, awarded over recent years include multiple advance works contracts on the N22 Ballyvourney/Macroom Project, multiple advance works contracts on the Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Project, traffic capacity improvement scheme at Little Island Interchange, and upgrade works at Shannonpark Roundabout.”
