We had similar numbers of cattle this week in Corrin mart.
The trade also remained exceptionally strong, in fact marginally improved again in many cases.
COWS
Excellent demand for all dry cows this week.
Store cows: 400kgs to 550kgs making from €1.24 per kilo to €1.82 per kilo.
Heavier cows: 550kgs+ making from €1.58 per kilo up to €2.21 per kilo.
Limousin 770kg €1,700; Friesians 680kg €1,200; Friesians 615kg €1,100.
BULLOCKS
Very strong trade for all bullocks. Huge number of buyers for all weights and breeds.
Light stores: under 350kgs made from €1.60 per kilo for plain Friesians up to €3.03 for continental bullocks. With AA/Hereford types making from €2.15 per kilo up to €2.85 per kilo.
Medium stores: 350kgs to 500kgs starting at €1.67 for Friesians up to €2.60 per kilo for Continentals. AA/Hereford bullocks made from €2.15 up to €2.45 per kilo.
Fwd. stores: 500kgs to 600kgs. The plainer Friesians started at €1.87 per kilo up to €2.65 per kilo.
Heavy bullocks: 600kgs+. Good demand for heavy bullocks making from €2 up to €2.49 per kilo.
AA 300kgs €770; Limousin 550kgs €1,460; AA 179kgs €540; AA 600kgs €1,490.
HEIFERS
Exceptional demand for all heifers this week.
Store heifers: under 400kgs made from €2.05 up to €2.47per kilo. AA/Hereford averaged at €2.18 per kilo.
Butchers heifers: 400kgs+. These type heifers made from €2.15 up to €2.56 per kilo, with AA/Hereford averaging at €2.20 per kilo.
AA 473kgs €1,140; Limousin 465kgs €1,190; AA 430kgs €1,050; Hereford 590kgs €1,380.
CALVES
The calf sales in Corrin Mart will now take place on Thursdays. The first Thursday sale will take place next week on February 3.
