This is the time of year when many consider career paths and / or indeed a total change of direction as plans are made for the future, particularly after the exams are done and dusted.

Hairdressing is one option well worth considering and the independently-run Cork Academy of Hairdressing, members of The Association and International Hair Colleges, under the personal supervision of Denis Maguire (the holder of a Master Craftsman diploma from the Irish Hairdressing Federation), will be running new courses, starting mid-September. Limited places are still available for the approximately 9-month day course.

The Cork Academy also specialise in barbering courses by night and have already trained students from The Avondhu area. The next 16 week course for barbering will begin in mid-September.

This intensive and practical course will, with the encouragement, support and training of Denis and the expert team, equip you for a wonderful and rewarding career in hairdressing at home or abroad on its successful completion.

We also have a hair extension course commencing weekly in September.

The Cork Academy of Hairdressing, located at 108, Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork and with Denis one of a select few Irish hairdressers to receive a Fellowship from the British Association and a Master Craftsman diploma from The British Hairdressing Council, has a proven track record in producing top class hairdressers who are following successful careers in the business here in Ireland and overseas.

Denis and the skilled college team endeavour to secure employment for their graduates and enjoy a very good success rate in this regard. Many salons are only too happy to take on successful hairdressers from one of the select few colleges in Ireland to qualify for membership of The Association of British and International Hair Colleges.
