Coolagown has gone and done it again, clocking up yet another award. Coolagown Development Group, though far from being blasé about such awards, are thrilled and delighted to be a winner again. Indeed far from being complacent, the group continually strives to identify and work on projects to enhance their village and area.

The latest accolade was for 'best new entry' in the Pride in our Community Amenity Project organised by Cork Muintir na Tire in association with Cork County Council.

They entered Coole Holy Well as their project. With the help of local CES workers they made it more accessible and developed the area below the well, restoring the water race and installing seating. They also planted the area with wild flowers and 3,500 woodland bulbs.

The development group's annual fundraising raffle will be held in Farriers Bar on Saturday, December 14th. Tickets are now on sale at €2 each or a book of three for €5. They're available from committee members. The group's latest win nicely illustrates the way in which they have beautified the area for the benefit of the local community and the continued good work they do, shows why continued support for their fundraising effort is deserved.
