Coolagown and C/T/Roche winners in Pride of Community Awards

The villages of Coolagown and Castletownroche have emerged winners in the 2013 Pride of County Cork section of the annual Pride of Place Awards.

The villages of Coolagown and Castletownroche have emerged winners in the 2013 Pride of County Cork section of the annual Pride of Place Awards. Coolagown was named 'best new entry, while Killavullan came in second in the category. Castletownroche took the 'small village award, Castlelyons was highly commended while Mitchelstown was joint second in the 'best large town' section.

The overall winner was Donoughmore. The competition, open to all voluntary groups in Cork, seeks to make local people conscious of their local environment and promotes litter-free communities. It's organised by Muintir na Tire.
