Hundreds of people made their way to Kilbehenny on Tuesday, as The Cranberries star and Voice of Ireland coach Dolores O'Riordan paid a visit to the Limerick village with Kellie Lewis, who will be competing in the final this Sunday.

Handmade posters, 'Vote Kellie' T-shirts in the Limerick colours of green and white, flower headbands and huge placards coloured the scene on Tuesday, as children of all ages and people from across Kilbehenny and surrounding communities gathered together to meet Kellie and wish her luck ahead of Sunday's show.

It was clear from the impressive turnout that the community were rallying all of their support behind Kellie who says she is really looking forward to Sunday's show. Based on previous final shows, she will be performing three times, as will the other three finalists, Brendan McCahey, Laura May Lenehan and Jamie Stanton. They will all give the performances of their lives as they hope to snatch the title of The Voice of Ireland 2014.

Kellie told The Avondhu that Dolores is in fighting spirit now and she really hopes that she can do her proud by winning, but she really needs the public to get behind her and vote, as they have been doing so far.

After meeting and greeting fans in Kilbehenny Community Centre, Dolores and Kellie made their way to the family home in Knocknascrow to film a feature for the show on RTE 1 on Sunday.

Kellie's sister Carol Geary spoke to The Avondhu about how relaxed Dolores was in their home, how she was all praise for Kellie and how they all really enjoyed meeting the star.

Speaking on behalf of all of the sisters, Carol said that it was a wonderful experience, as Dolores sat and chatted to each of them and said that she was delighted with the turnout in the village.

Kellie has idolised Dolores since she was very young and on Tuesday, Kellie experienced a moment that she will treasure forever, as she played one of her own songs for Dolores and then her idol sat and played at the very piano that Kellie learned to play on, when she was just a child.

Not afraid to muck in, Dolores also went outside and experienced the Lewis farm to the amazement of the Lewis family.

The whole family want to thank everyone who has voted so far and they wanted to remind people to vote for Kellie again on Sunday, as every single vote counts.

Carol said that meeting Dolores has made them even more confident that Sunday will go well, as they know that Dolores is behind Kellie 100% and they all feel that no matter how the final goes, win or lose, Kellie is a winner to all of them for getting to the final.

Regardless of the outcome, the Lewis family have made plans to have a night of celebrations in Kilbehenny on the Sunday after the final, during the May bank holiday weekend, to mark Kellie's achievements.

Tune into RTE 1 on Sunday, April 27 at 6.30pm for the final of The Voice of Ireland. Best of luck to Kellie!
