Codex unveils ‘Green Looks Good on Ireland’ electric vehicles

Codex has unveiled three new electric vehicles featuring a striking, eco-focused design as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainable practices. The custom wrap, showcasing the slogan “Green Looks Good on Ireland,” underscores Codex’s dedication to environmental responsibility and aims to spotlight the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) in reducing carbon emissions across Irish businesses.

The new design was developed in collaboration with ‘Scapegoat design’, incorporating thoughtful input and feedback from the Codex team to ensure the final design represents Codex’s collective vision. Featuring lush green visuals and messages promoting sustainability, the van wrap produced by Precision Window Tinting & Graphics (PTG) is intended to spark conversation about eco-friendly choices and emphasise Codex’s role as an advocate for a cleaner Ireland.

Working closely with their environmental partner, Planet Mark, Codex identified their delivery fleet as the largest contributor to the company’s measured carbon footprint. To address this, Codex introduced Ireland’s first fully electric Renault Master in 2019, and in the last few months, the company replaced three additional combustion engine vans with fully electric Ford E-Transits.

Speaking about Codex’s sustainability journey at the Electric Vehicle Summit & Expo at the RDS last week, Patrick Murphy, Codex CEO said, “With our new ‘Green Looks Good on Ireland’ vans, we’re delivering more than office supplies – we’re sharing our vision for a sustainable future.”

These unique vehicles are not only a part of our commitment to meeting carbon neutrality goals but also serve as mobile reminders of the positive impact we can all make by choosing sustainable options,” Mr Murphy continued.

Highlights of Codex’s New Electric Vans:

  • Zero-Emission Technology: The EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, ensuring each delivery reduces Codex’s carbon footprint.
  • Low Noise Pollution: The vans’ quiet operation benefits both customers and communities in urban areas by reducing noise pollution.
  • Sustainable and Reliable Nationwide Delivery: Codex’s EV’ fleet is dedicated to sustainably delivering office products to our customers nationwide. These vans can travel up to 200km on a single charge, making them ideal for urban and regional deliveries.

By investing in a new EV fleet and supporting the development of EV charging infrastructure, Codex is confident this important step will reduce emissions while maintaining reliable, prompt, environmentally-friendly office deliveries directly to its clients’ doors nationwide.

In line with Codex’s broader sustainability efforts, the EV initiative highlights the company’s role as a leader in green solutions within the office supplies industry. Codex’s continued success has also been recognised by multiple accolades, including Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies award and certification as a Great Place to Work® since 2017.

Codex launched their Codex CSR Report in September outlining the company’s CSR targets and achievements to date.
