Gardai have seized a small quantity of cocaine when they spotted a suspicious man in Fermoy last weekend.
While on patrol on Sunday at 7pm in the town, they spotted a man on Patrick’s Street who they believed may be committing a crime.
They approached the man and following a search under the mis-use of drugs act, they found €200 of a white substance believed to be cocaine.
He was arrested for a further search back at the station but they did not find any more drugs.
It is understood they found some small bags which it is believed, are used to distribute drugs.
It is anticipated the arrested man will be summonsed to court following the preparation of a file and the results of forensic tests on the drugs.
