An application has been made for 11 new Community Employment schemes for the Fermoy area, the recent meeting of the local area committee of Cork County Council was told.
Area engineer Brendan O’Gorman advised that while application was made for 11 schemes, it’s likely that they’ll get approval for seven to eight. He explained that the application first goes to Cork County Council, who estimate the value of the schemes before submitting them to the Department of Social Protection.
