The countdown to Araglin Carnival 2013 is on and excitement is building in advance of (Friday, July 19). It promises to be an extra special occasion for local DJ Eugene Aherne who has the honour of being in charge of tunes for the opening night Hawaiian Hula Party in the marquee.
The marquee is a critical piece of carnival infrastructure and unlike a lot of other late night venues, all age groups are welcome. Teenagers make up a large segment of the carnival crowd and all will have unrestricted access to the marquee which went up this week. Those paying in, will be aware that only the bar (which is a permanent structure adjacent to the marquee) is out of bounds for minors.
Buses are already booked and travel arrangements being made for two weekends of full-on action at this popular Co Tipperary venue. Deuces Wild, The Waxies and Hot Fuss are all booked to play while carnival favourites, Loose Cannons will be 'across the way' in The Swallow Inn courtyard.
