On this coming Monday night, The Village Arts Centre will play host to a very highly talented bunch of musicians who will give us a flavour of The Caribbean with their very summery and romantic sound.

Pitak features the wonderful Ines Khai’s whose emotive songs about the struggles of life and love in Guadeloupe are illustrated by her dramatic stage presence.

The band combines elements of Reggae, Jazz, Soul, Samba and West African rhythms and boasts a fabulous line-up of seasoned and diverse musicians; including bass player Jerome Rimson (from Detroit), two Congolese musicians from Ireland’s best travelled African Band (The Lace) Daniel Muyombo and Troca on electric guitar and drum kit respectively and Ireland’s Patrick Naughton playing Djembe, percussion and shakers making up the quintet.

“The music was so beautiful and the singer? Wow, just wow, she had a voice that made my jaw drop . . . please, for your own sake, make an effort to go see them in Kilworth! They are magnificent!"

Book your ticket now and be carried away on the Caribbean breeze! Tickets (15euro)from the usual Village Arts Centre outlets or call 025-32227 or 087-6492514.
