With the agile BYD DOLPHIN (C-hatchback) arriving in the summer of 2023, BYD SEAL (sleek and sporty D-Sedan) coming in the autumn of this year and the spacious and practical BYD SEAL U (D-SUV) entering in Q1 of 2024, BYD’s product portfolio in Europe is growing rapidly.
IAA ideal platform for BYD
The Munich Motor Show in Germany is the ideal platform to introduce the Ocean-inspired BYD SEAL and SEAL U to European Customers. Both vehicles are equipped with BYD’s innovative technology for safety, comfort and performance, but they serve different audiences.
The stylish, sleek and sporty BYD SEAL (D-Sedan) is the recipient of a prestigious iF Design Award, with dynamic low lines that give it a truly sporty edge, with many finessed design touches that echo the BYD’s Ocean X design language. It utilizes BYD’s latest CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology which integrates the body and Blade Battery for superior levels of structural strength.
The BYD SEAL also benefits from BYD’s latest iTAC (Intelligent Torque Adaption Control) for stability and safety performance. It is also practical for all types of journeys, with a 570/520km (WLTP combined) driving range. BYD will be available with the 82.5 kWh BYD Blade Battery. There will be two trims, a rear-wheel-drive Design with 230 kW and an All-Wheel-Drive Excellence that offers a stunning 390 kW.
European premiere SEAL U SUV
BYD SEAL is joined on the stage in Munich by the ultra-versatile, practical and spacious BYD SEAL U – a European premiere. SEAL U is BYD’s latest pure electric SUV in the D-segment offering exceptional versatility and value with a high specification as standard. SEAL U (U standing for Utility) is combining stylish aesthetics and high-tech intelligent experiences with high levels of safety, comfort and practicality.
As SEAL, also the design concept of SEAL U SUV is inspired by the ocean, with attention to detail at every touchpoint. The BYD SEAL U carries 5 passengers with generous capacity for cargo, making it practical and spacious.
The BYD SEAL U comes in two trim-levels. The Comfort offers a 71.8 kW BYD Blade Barry with 420km range. The Design-version is mounted with an 87 kWh Blade Battery and offers a reassuring 500km WLTP-range. With an abundance of equipment and intelligent technology, and a high specification as standard, BYD SEAL U represents exceptional value in its full-electric SUV category. The BYD SEAL U available for launch in the European market in Q1 of 2024.
