A lot of our members were involved in the GAA Cúl Camp that took place in Kilworth recently. 180 boys and girls participated and a really great time was had by all – there was even some ice cream at the end of the week.
Denis Twomey took on the responsibility of being camp co-ordinator, and once again, he did a really professional job. Kilara Óg chairman, Tom Browne, said the camp was a great success and made a special point of thanking parents and coaches for the time and effort they put in.
Cork senior star, Darragh Fizgibbon and Kilworth’s Eoin Carey were the special guests and posed for lots of photographs.
As of last weekend, Eoin is the holder of an U20 All-Ireland hurling medal, everyone is proud of his achievements.
U12s BLAZING A TRAIL
The Kilara U12 team is blazing a trail at the moment. The hurlers took on and beat a fancied Killavullen side in Kilworth recently and impressed all in attendance with their skill, speed and will to win. Keep it up lads.
LOCAL LADIES MAKING A NAME FOR THEMSELVES
We must also acknowledge the achievements of Rebecca Feehan and Shauna O’Driscoll who are involved with the Cork U14 team. Both girls are very committed to their sport and always give of their best on the field of play.
CONTINUE TO ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS
Everyone is enjoying the summer holidays and looking forward to even better weather and more activities in the weeks ahead.
The good news for players is that there are lots of games coming up, so be ready.
