Bus Eireann has said it has no immediate plans to get rid of the X8 bus route and its stop in Fermoy, the recent meeting of Fermoy Town Council was told.
Mayor Olive Corcoran tabled a motion for their monthly meeting calling on the council to write to Bus Eireann seeking a guarantee that the X8 bus route, with provision for a stop in Fermoy, be maintained for the next five years. There was unanimous support for her motion.
Members were then advised that Bus Eireann don’t have immediate plans anyway to end the service.
