Brian Seymour tribute in Fermoy

The death of Brian Seymour shortly before Christmas last year occasioned great shock throughout north Cork and beyond. Brian, was immersed in the music business and very well known on the live circuit.
To honour his memory, a tribute concert took place in Fermoy Community Youth Centre last Sunday evening. There was a fantastic line up with Arkadia, The Montones, The Service, Phoenix and Red Effect all taking to the stage for this once off show. The gig also featured a guest appearance by members of Castlelyons Gospel Choir.
Given the quality of the line-up and the professionalism of those associated with this free event, you would have expected a full house, however, this didn't materialise.
For those that did make the effort to attend, they weren't disappointed as 3 hours of music was served up by some very accomplished musicians. MC for the night was Kevin Corcoran who, as usual, didn't leave the side down. A full-on, upbeat occasion, the show was a fitting tribute to Brian, whose all too short life centred around, bands, music and live performances.
