Local entertainment fans mourn the untimely passing of Irish comedy legend, Brendan Grace who sadly died this morning, Thursday July 11, in the presence of his family and friends after a short battle with lung cancer.
Over the course of his long and distinguished career, which spanned almost 50 years, the Dublin native visited many local theatres and venues throughout The Avondhu catchment.
These include well known venues, The Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown (pictured here in 2009 with staff), The Village Arts Centre in Kilworth and most recently, Cappoquin Community Centre, in West Waterford, where he played his last gig on March 2nd of this year.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen, and their four children. The 68 year old will be sadly missed, leaving many happy memories from his legendary on-stage performances.
