Bord Bia has launched its summer campaign, inviting the people of Cork and beyond to indulge in the delightful tastes and diverse range of Irish farmhouse cheeses.

The campaign highlights the exceptional quality and versatility of these cheeses, offering a unique treat for cheese enthusiasts.

Among such cheeses is that of Bó Rua Farm, located in Ballyknock, Ballynoe – a notable multi-award-winning Cork Farmhouse Cheese producer owned by Tom and Norma Dinneen, who take care of their cows, handcraft their multi-award-winning cheese, and prepare it for distribution to their loyal customers.

Their dedication to providing the ideal environment for their cows results in rich, nutritious, and delicious milk, perfect for cheesemaking.

At the recent Artisan Cheese Awards in May, Bó Rua Farm’s Farmhouse Cheese earned a gold medal, while their new ‘Roasted Onion and Chive’ flavoured cheese was awarded a silver medal.

Bó Rua Farm is also involved in the innovative BRIDE (Biodiversity Regeneration in a Dairy Environment) Project, collaborating with forty-four local farms to conserve, enhance, and restore natural habitats.

As part of the Summer Campaign, Bord Bia is hosting a competition where participants could win one of five Farmhouse Cheese Summer Hampers valued at €50 each.

Other competitions are also under, with details available online at the Bord Bia website.
