Described by many as the ‘oscars’ in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, Bon Secours Hospital Cork is delighted to be shortlisted by Chambers Ireland, for supporting the development of a Social Skills app, with the SHINE Centre for Autism, Carrigaline, Co Cork.

The 13th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Awards will take place on September 1st 2016 in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin

Harry Canning, Hospital Manager at Bon Secours Hospital Cork commented: “We are delighted to be able to support such an innovative project through our Community Initiative Fund.  It has reached in excess of 20,000 children after just one year and is a fantastic success.”

Bon Secours Hospital Cork invests significantly annually in the Cork Community through its Community Fund, which it sees as a means of translating its ethos of care into action for the wider local community.

Other projects supported in 2015 and 2016 are the Fitzgerald Park Inclusive Playground Project, St. Vincent De Paul Homeless Hostel Shower Block extension, Cork Simon and the Guide Dogs.

The Social Skills for Autism App – known as ‘Mission Rescue Kloog’ is designed to teach children, adolescents, teenagers and young people with autism the social skills they need to operate effectively and comfortably in social situations.
