What we believe to be the first salmon of the year on the Blackwater was caught on February 19 by Billy Donavan (centre) of Killavullen Angling Club, weighing 10lbs. The fish was caught and landed in the church stream below Killavullen Bridge. Also included are Peter O’Sullivan (boy) and Jim O’Sullivan.
