“It has been very well received by customers, the additional space means we have been able to expand our stock, most notably gift ideas. We now have an attractive space where customers can walk through and browse, it makes for a much better retail experience,” Carla told The Avondhu. “We’ve come a long way since we first opened and this is down to the hard work of staff and the loyalty of customers, who have been so good to us,” she said.

Tea sets, cheeseboards, crystal, diffusers, pottery, soft toys, cards and crafts are not items you would immediately associate with a jewellery specialist, however, Carla Walsh Jewellers has all these and much more. The shop is also a stockist of traditional cuckoo clocks and other eye-catching time pieces, which, according to Carla, are very popular. 

“People like personalised gifts, they want quality items that are competitively priced and this is why the gift department is doing so well,” she says.
Customers should also note that deposits are taken all year round. 

Another important part of the business is a very professional ear piercing service. The shop is Earpiercing Diploma Certified and staff members update their skills by going on regular courses.
