Many of the Mitchelstown CBS Primary students were just tiny tots when boxer Bernard Dunne became the Super-Bantamweight World Champion in 2009, but last week they were in awe of the boxer, as he spoke to them about striving for their dreams and always having ambitions.

Bernard Dunne is now a sports performance and lifestyle coach with the Dublin senior football team and he was brought to the school by Carambola Kidz, who provide the students with the healthy snacks and lunches each day.

He spoke to the two sixth class groups about making the transition from primary to secondary school and also very kindly visited each class, spoke to the children and got pictures taken with them.

"He spoke to the boys about achieving their goals, always working towards ambition and never giving up on their dreams," the Principal Mary O'Callaghan said, adding that he was a wonderful speaker and the students and staff alike found his words very inspiring and thought provoking.
