With a break from races this week the focus was back on training, the highlight being a big turn out at Saturday training in Dromin, where Mike McAuliffe led out interval sessions and Seamus Hourigan brought the beginners group through their paces.

The beginners group included a lot of new names at a club training session including Patricia Wade, Tina Hayes, Aideen Leahy, Helen Fitzgerald O’Sullivan, Bob Creed, Agne Bulyceva, Kerri Hourigan and Niamh Doody. Great that this group is gaining momentum, keep it up folks. The regulars included Joe O’Brien, Donnacha Enright, Gary Egan, Paul Ryan, Colie Gorman and James Gubbins.

John Downes, Johnny Daly, Sean Manning, Liam Sheehy and Martin Hennessey made the Sunday hill session around scenic Kilfinane. Well done all!! Great start to the year.

UPCOMING TRAINING

Training continues this Saturday in Dromin at 9.30am with the Sunday hill run continuing from square in Kilfinane at 9am. Will be great to have some further additions to our training group and the beginners group. Anyone interested in trying out a group training session is very welcome to attend.

Other training options which our athletes have been availing of in recent weeks include Joe Chawke’s Tuesday evening track training session from 7-8pm in UL. The UL 5K series is a great option this Thursday 9th from UL boat club.

We’ll have more options for midweek training once the evenings start to stretch. For information on club training, etc contact Sean on 086-6001430 or send us a message on Facebook.
