The local authority housing scheme on Oliver Plunkett Hill in Fermoy will commence in a ‘matter of weeks’, The Avondhu understands. According to a reliable source, construction work on the 10 housing units will get under way shortly.

Over €2 million was allocated for the project by then Housing Minister Jan O’Sullivan under the Local Authority Home Building Initiative in March 2014.

Fermoy was the only project in Cork county allocated funding under the scheme, which disbursed €68 million in total across the country.
