Following another great night of bluegrass music with Neil Toner on Monday night, John Nyhan is bringing together two master banjo/guitar players to share the stage of The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth on Monday night, April 8. They are Ken Perlman from New York and Michael J Miles from Chicago.

Ken Perlman is a superb instrumentalist as well as being an acclaimed teacher and performer. He is a pioneer of the 5-string banjo style known as 'melodic clawhammer' and is also a master guitarist. His tunes are drawn from Southern fiddle tunes and his songs are from Southern string band music, ragtime and ballads.

Michael J Miles is a master banjoist, guitarist and singer. His show includes the development of the banjo from its origins in West Africa to the present day in America.

This promises to be an unforgettable night when we can also expect to hear one or two Irish classics included in the programme.

Tickets now on sale from John Nyhan (087-7921771), from any of the Village Arts Centre outlets and from 025-32227 or 087-6492514.
