If the long dreary nights are getting to you and the lights of Christmas seem far away, we in Fermoy Musical Society have exactly the tonic you need. On the 16th, 17th and 18th November our show ‘Bustin’ Out Broadway’ will burst onto the stage of The Palace Theatre in Fermoy.
Colour, energy and positivity is the order of the day as FMS showcase selections from some of our favourite musicals.
We have been in rehearsals since early September to bring this show to the stage and we are enjoying every minute of it. The beauty of doing a performance like this is that we can cherry pick all the best numbers from our favourite shows.
A selection of choreographed numbers from classic musicals like ‘Guys and Dolls’, ‘Fiddler On The Roof’ ‘Hello Dolly’ and ‘Music Man’ will delight some of our audience who may remember our productions of these shows over the years. There are also more contemporary musicals, like ‘Shrek’ and ‘Parade’ which are full of wonderful music and fabulous, fun dance scenes.
We are lucky to have a plethora of talented people in our ranks at the moment. Some of the performers will be very familiar, having starred in shows with us on many occasions, while others are new to the joy of musical theatre.
A show like this brings the best out of everyone, with its variety, energy, colour and joy. You will not be disappointed.
Our friends in the Fermoy Concert Band are celebrating their centenary this year and will join us for a few numbers during the show.
